Has anyone seen 'Burnt Offerings' with Oliver Reed ? That chauffeur scared the shit out of me as a kid!
Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Exorcist all deserve their recognition

The Devil rides out, best of the Hammer Horrors
Also, A Field in England, does that count as horror.
And, as many have said, Halloween

You know what she did? Your cunting daughter!
The Exorcist still hasn't been beaten in my book. But I prefer psychological horrors over slash & gore borefests.

The original 'Funny Games' was psychologically a nervy film, but I'm baffled as to how anyone could get genuinely scared by a movie.

crystal falace 3:17 Thu Oct 29 Re: Favourite horror movie? the strangers I think its called, is the only scary movie that has genuinely scared me abit, think that's because its based on a true story and I watched it when I was about 14 years old in the house on my own at about 2AM
When you say based on a true story, in a very loose sense. The director got the 'inspiration' from when people knocked at his house once as a kid asking for someone who didnt live there, and left. it turns out that burglars were knocking on houses locally and if nobody answered they were breaking in and robbing the houses. nothing at all like what happened in the film.
